Dr Lukas M Stahl LL.M. MBA (LLM in European Management and Employment Law, 1997 [2026]
President of the Board
Lukas is an Austrian-American attorney admitted to the State Bar of California, the U.S. Court of International Trade in New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, DC.
He is also licensed as a corporate and investment adviser pursuant to Austrian and European Law. Dr Stahl studied law, economics and business administration in Austria, Italy, the UK and the US and graduated with Master of Laws degrees from the University of Leicester in European Management and Employment Law and from the University at Buffalo Law School, SUNY, in U.S. Law.
He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and a post-graduate Certificate in Taxation from the Fordham Graduate School of Business. For his work Capital 2.0 – Capital Formation and Legal Risk in a New Global Economic Order. From FIAT to EXIT he was awarded a PhD in Law from the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom.
During the past 30 years he personally led, financed, managed, grew, sold or advised Emerging Growth Companies. Since 2004 Lukas lives full-time in the United States where prior to founding his own law firm, Stahl Law, he helped build the European Practice of a leading securities law firm in Los Angeles and New York.
As Stahl Law Corporation’s Managing Attorney, he continues to focus on expanding and financing European Emerging Growth companies in the United States.
Martin Lampner (Master of Business Administration, 2003) [2026]
Secretary of the Board
Now retired Mr. Lampner served as the President and CEO Chimes International LTD, a multinational Non-governmental Organization (NGO), serving people with disabilities. He held a variety of other positions at Chimes.
Before assuming the Presidency of the organization he had served at various times as the CTO, CFO, and Executive Vice President of Operations. He joined Chimes in 1989 and retired in 2017. Prior to joining Chimes, he worked as Child Welfare Worker and also worked with refugees helping them with resettlement issues.
Today Mr. Lampner, as a volunteer, is active in community environmental advocacy and also volunteers at the Indian River Life Saving Museum conducting tours and providing other services for visitors.
In addition to Leicester’s USA alumni association he also serves on the boards of two other not-for-profit organizations. In his free time Marty enjoys playing folk music or sailing with friends.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Utica/Rome in Human Services and an MBA from Leicester University, awarded in 2003. He is also a licensed CPA.
Tim Clackett (Economics and Economic History BA, 1982) [2026]
Treasurer of the Board
Tim attended the University of Leicester from 1979-1882 receiving a degree in Economics and Economic History. After graduation he joined BDO in London and became a Chartered Accountant in 1985.
After moving to Los Angeles in 1989 and working in the private sector as a corporate vice president and controller, Tim re-joined BDO in 2005 and became an audit partner working with a wide variety of national and international public and privately held clients in the online media, manufacturing, cleantech, distribution, technology, entertainment, and service industries.
Tim is a Board member with the British American Business Council and the former treasurer of the Association of Chartered Accountants in the United States. After having retired from BDO in 2020 he now performs part time consulting work for non-profits and is also currently restoring a 1959 Morris Minor.
Pamela Mattera (Museum Studies MA, 2007) [2026]
Previous Treasurer of the Board
Pamela is currently consulting for museums on new membership program models. Most recently, she served as the Arts Program Fellow at the Kenneth Rainin Foundation, a family foundation based in Oakland, CA. She supported the foundation’s Arts grant-making process and explored new ways to engage the Bay Area’s cultural community, especially those who have been historically excluded from philanthropy.
Prior to her Rainin Fellowship, Pamela worked in non-traditional museums and museums addressing social justice for nearly two decades, spending time at institutions including the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas, and the New Museum. She held the position of Director of Membership and Annual Fund at the Brooklyn Museum where she built the membership base to its highest record to date. She also advanced diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives, including pilots for new six-month and community-based membership models.
Pamela has a BA in History from Boston College and an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester.
Debbie Stahl MBA (Master of Business Administration, 2014) [2026]
Debbie is a Canadian-American banker and executive who for many years prior to moving to the United States of America has been a national Vice President for private label retail financing with a Top 3 bank.
After being transferred to the United States and being promoted to national Vice President for the United States she continued in the same position until she changed sides to work as a C-level executive, board director and consultant for family offices, consumer and retail clients expanding their business in the United States in industries such as banking, telecom, real estate and business development.
Debbie has studied business at Concordia University in Montreal and graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Leicester.
Catherine Wigdor née Johnson (History and Politics BA, 1993) [2026]
Catherine attended the University of Leicester from 1990-1993 receiving a First Class Degree in History and Politics.
She then attended Oxford University receiving an MPhil in Politics in 1995. At Oxford she met her husband, Douglas Wigdor, and moved with him to New York. Whilst living in New York she studied for her JD at Touro Law School graduating valedictorian of her class.
Catherine then went on to briefly practice law at Davis, Polk and Wardwell, leaving after a couple of years to raise her children. Catherine is currently Vice President of Venture House, a non-profit in Queens, NY, that supports adults living with severe mental illness.
Catherine is also Vice President of the Women’s Club of Forest Hills where she lives with her husband and two sons.
Dr Sandya Narayanswami (Biological Sciences BSc, 1976) [2026]
Dr. Sandya Narayanswami provides advisory services to universities, research institutes, non-profits, and companies on raising funds from private foundations, federal agencies, and corporations, with a focus on science. A life scientist with a PhD, her unique skill-set combines faculty-level research expertise with a 20+ year track-record of obtaining grants and gifts from major local, regional, national and international foundations, corporations, government agencies, and corporate foundations. She has successfully solicited support for capital investment, research, scholarships, endowments, operating costs, instrumentation and education.
SNC helps clients build strong fundraising programs from the ground up, focusing on policy and procedure development, best practices, staff training and development, goal setting, fundraising and evaluation. Dr. Narayanswami’s strengths include: interfacing effectively with faculty and foundation staff, designing and administering complex programs, stewarding relationships, and developing strategy for all aspects of fundraising from corporations and foundations. Dr. Narayanswami also provides editorial services for foundation, federal (NIH, NSF, DOE, NASA etc), and international (ERC, Academy of Finland) agency proposals.
Dr. Narayanswami is a real scientist who knows how to raise money for “Big Science”. On the personal side, she was the first Indian woman to compete on “University Challenge” and “Mastermind”, is Chairman of the Board of the General Aviation Awards, and flies small planes in her spare time, from Cessna 172s to Eclipse jets.
Lorna Campbell (International Relations & World Order MA (DL), 2012) [2026]
I grew up in Dunblane, Scotland and attended University of Glasgow for my undergraduate studies.
Following five years of work as a newspaper reporter at a daily paper, I moved with my husband-to-be to Southern California.
As an immigrant I could not seek paid employment and so undertook a Master’s degree at University of Leicester. The Master’s in International Relations and World Order was vital to the next stages of my career.
Over the next ten years I ran two non-profits, one in the animal welfare and political realm and the other in wildlife conservation and humanitarian work in Africa.
Since the pandemic, I’ve been specializing in Human Resources management and now work at the California Institute of Technology for the LIGO Lab, a Nobel prize winning physics/astronomy project.
As a Leicester grad with a practical non-profit background I am keen to share my knowledge.
